i've been writing here since April 2020 and even though it's changed A LOT since then, if you just stay under the noise it's another great place to connect with great people...I also like how all the newsletters I follow are consolidated into the app, too. Anyway I hope you stay! But i'll stay close to your stuff even if you opt out;)
To be honest, I just only found your work like last week, but I liked everything I've seen so far. You really have given some helpful advice, especially someone completely new to blogging and marketing. But the most important thing is, for you to be happy. In one of your posts, you said that you had lost interest and heart in being "The Niche Guy", I wouldn't want that to happen here too. As much as I and other people enjoy your posts, it's what you think and feel at the end of the day that matters most. And if you decide to leave, your true fans will follow. They always do.:).
Good: this app, which is neither my inbox nor social media, but rather a place just for reading.
Bad: if you’re a writer who makes money in literally any other way than Substack’s narrow conception of The Way Things Ought To Be, they’re basically yelling “please go away.”
No welcome sequences or journeys, no way to offer lead magnets, no Zapier access to add subscribers who find you elsewhere, no API, etc etc etc.
The real question is: has it helped expand your audience. I use ghost, too. But I’ve come over to substack to see if it can put me in front of new audiences and grow my newsletter. What are your thoughts.

I think as long as I can get your posts into my inbox I'm good!

Scorch! Scorch! Scorch!
I go the path of least resistance. Substack was the easiest to set up and it fit the bill.
I don't have any qualms about it except that I'll probably be needing to setting up a welcome sequence soon so CK it will be 🥴🥴🥴.
Go where your writer heart tells you to go!
